![]() SmartThings Is still listed on the product page, and their support agents were pretty useless, so perhaps it was just not working for me? Hard to imagine that their own app wouldn’t work with a major product. So no adding it to Google Home, no fine-tuning in SmartThings, no automation with any other of my iOT routines… After over an hour and a half, and despite saying that this works and can be managed and fine-tuned via SmartThings, two support agents, said that the HW-Q67 is NOT supported by the app. Also, and this is a big issue for me only because I have most of my devices/lights/plugs/Samsung Frame/etc all running through manageable app, either Samsung SmartThings or Google Home, etc.TWO other agents said that it “supports” Atmos because they can RECEIVE an Atmos signal, but not output true 5.1.2…. Depending on the support agent, one said it “supports” Virtual Atmos, which is not true Atmos. As far as I understand so far, and according to support, they cannot produce real 5.1.2 up-firing Atmos, but rather “supports” Atmos. As many here have mentioned, both the box, and the product web page say it has “Dolby Atmos”. The big two showstoppers for me, and could really just be me (but Samsung could not help): This really healed, both in the front and back, without washing out all of th either sounds I usually have difficulty with voices during films/shows. Very good surround mapping, there were distinct stereo / front-back distinctions during movie tests.Great sound for the price, good bass, mid, and highs (I am NOT an audiophile, but these are soundbars, so we’re all pretty much the same on that, yes?).Main unit was straightforward, sub sync’ed right away, rear console and speakers paired right away too. Good packaging, clear organization of pieces, wires, etc.Hope this helps.īought least from Costco last week, and after 3 hour run-around with Samsung support chat, returned them. “Audio sync” helps with syncing the audio with video and finally “virtual on/off” which I don’t know exactly what it’s supposed to do and I didn’t hear a lot of difference between on or off.Įverything is personal so these are my observations and someone else may or may not agree with them so take my review with a grain of salt. “Night mode” to lower the sound so you don’t disturb other people in your house. There’s some other settings as well: “voice enhance” which really punches up the voice, too much in my opinion but it’s a good setting for people with hearing issues. ![]() You can also connect to the SB via Bluetooth but I haven’t done that yet so I can’t comment on it. Maybe in a firmware upgrade in the future. I would expect it to be a higher number, at least to 10 to create more difference in sound between the SB and rear speakers. ![]() The centre and rear speakers sound level can be independently set, but only from 0-6, the same goes for the bass, treble and SW. I watched some Dolby Atmos movies and Netflix as a test and it sounded better than my 5.1.2 Vizio SB which is advertised as a DA SB and has upfiring speakers in the SB. It’s a much more richer sound and the rear speakers sound great. As far as sound goes, it sounds much better than my Vizio SB. I set it up yesterday and it was very easy although there are a lot of wires. ![]()
